Mr Wilson’s Second Liners
Now a firm favourite of the festival, Mr Wilson’s will be bursting back this year with colour and sound as they pay homage to the die-hard days of the Hacienda and 90s club culture. These 24-hour party people are guaranteed to get audiences young and old dancing wherever they play.
Back Chat Brass
In their third year at the festival, Back Chat Brass bring a brassy twist on classic tunes combined with their electrifying showmanship to our events cross Durham. They will literally drag you out of your seat to party.
Oompah Brass
Describing themselves as the UK’s original rock and roll oompah band, Oompah Brass bring a repertoire of Bavarian style with a modern twist drawn from the likes of AC/DC, Queen, Bon Jovi, Led Zeppelin, Taylor Swift and Katy Perry to name just a few!
Artistas Del Gremio
Artistas Del Gremio, bring the Spanish street festival atmosphere to BRASS with their lively performance and music ranging from classical to pop this band are guaranteed to get the audience on their feet!
Louisiana Funky Butts Brass Band
Travelling to BRASS from Germany with their six horns and two drummers, the Louisiana Funky Butts play cheekily through all genre boundaries from Afrobeats, Latin Grooves, French Pop, Southern Rock, Cajun, club sounds and traditional 2nd-line jazz.
Breakout Brass
We were honoured to give Breakout Brass, an all-female street band, their first big break at the festival last year and are pleased to be welcoming them back for 2019 with their mix of familiar tunes with a New Orleans style.
Bring Your Own Brass
New to BRASS for 2019, Bring Your Own Brass (BYOB) are an 11-piece brass band who have been tearing up festival stages with their original mix of hip hop beats, heavy riffs and dance floor grooves. They are a live band not to be missed!
Loud Noises
Loud Noises bridge the gap between contemporary brass music and high octane dance. Blurring the line between band and audience, they might be the most interactive and engaging band in Britain.
Hannabiell and Midnight Blue
This high energy ensemble is nothing less than exhilarating as it fuses together Afro-Caribbean & Latin percussion, Jazz, Afro-beat, Funk, and Reggae to create their unique sound.
King Brasstards
Inspired by the sounds of the streets of New Orleans, 7-piece Leicester outfit, King Brasstards, have been taking the live music scene by storm since their inception. Covering everything from swing classics through to modern pop hits and soulful numbers, they are sure to please whatever the occasion. Priding themselves on a mobile and energetic live performance, they feature a mighty sousaphone, percussion, marching-style snare drummer and four horns, and are always open to song requests, giving them the King Brass-treatment.
The Goat Stew Orchestra
This band play roots ska, afro-beat, Latin soul and funk. Featuring musicians from the UK and Cuba the 7 piece band rock the dance floor and feed the soul.
Reel Brass
Reel Brass is taking ceilidh music to the streets with an exciting mix of traditional ceilidh tunes with pumping n’orleans brass arrangements. With a sousaphone bass line, guitar, accordion, pipes and some upfront horns – expect to get up close and personal as you fly round the dance floor. They will teach you the moves and provide the grooves with all ceilidh dances fully called, and all tunes seriously funky.
The Circus Brothers
Circus Brothers became a solid part of the Czech music festival scene very quickly. They play fast disco Balkan music in which they combine Balkan brass band, disco beats, cheap pop, dirty house, rough rap and pleasing folk.
