BRASS is a celebration of a musical culture: the result of imaginative collaborations and commissions, constantly pushing the boundaries of what brass music is and can be. This year’s festival boasts more cross-genre collaborations than ever before.

A magnificent show!
Don’t miss the spectacular festival finale with awe inspiring German company PAN.OPTIKUM who have created a new performance specifically for Durham City – expect a magnificent show with large scale projections, theatrical machinery and intense firework effects.

Through our ongoing partnership with Durham Music Service, we are enabling young people to work alongside some of the most inspiring bands and artists in the world and our education programme will bring over 90 performances to schools across the county.

A team effort
BRASS 2011 would not have been possible without the remarkable musicians and artists who make up the programme, our fantastic festival team, volunteers, co-producers and partners. Our thanks go to the funders and programme supporters for their imagination, commitment and generosity. Thank you also to our loyal audiences, I hope to see you at a BRASS event soon.
